DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION STUDENT RECORDS FOR THE YEARS
FROM 2006 and PRIOR
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords parents and students over 18 years of age (“eligible students”) certain rights with respect to the student’s education records. Pursuant to these rights, the Jemez Mountain Schools announces the following:
The Jemez Mountain Schools will be destroying special education records on February 14, 2017
For School years 2006 and BEFORE.
Records destroyed will include IEPs, diagnostic evaluations, and all similar documents. If you would like a copy of your records before they are destroyed, you must notify the Jemez Mountain Schools in writing to:

or come to Central Office, Monday – Thursday, between 8:00 a.m. -4:30 p.m. no later than February 14, 2017. Copies of the documents will be charged at 5 cents per page.
