Ms. Cavazos has been in education for over 41 years. Throughout her career, she has served in every certified capacity and at every level including post-secondary. 

 

Ms. Cavazos is certified by New Mexico Public Education with three Level Three licenses and by the Texas Education Agency with nine licenses ranging from early childhood teacher, counselor, supervisor and administrator in general education as well as in Bilingual and Special Education. Her focus areas throughout her career, while serving in various capacities, have been working with Special Education, Bilingual and At Risk students.

Ms. Cavazos has led by example and has been the recipient of several awards for her leadership and promotion of patriotism in the schools. In San Antonio, she was awarded the Mirabeau Lamar Award for Educational Excellence in Administration.  The Brooks County. Veterans of Foreign Wars Local Chapter awarded her the highest award a civilian can be bestowed by the Texas Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars for promoting patriotism in the schools. 

 

Ms. Cavazos’ years in education have not merely been a career but a lifelong vocation. Her passion for education, integrity and love of children are the legacies that will people will remember about her.
